What is sinus lift surgery?

The maxillary sinus is an organ of the supporting tooth structure that is located near the nose. It contains sinus membrane which is covered by thin layer of bone structure. Sinus lift surgery involves lifting of the soft membrane in order to make space for building bone structure, which will hold the implant. The bone structure may be taken from an artificial source, from other part of patient’s body or from animal source (cow).
